Signal Sentinel

Checks seem delayed or not running
Android battery optimizations can delay WorkManager-scheduled checks. Go to Settings → Apps → Signal Sentinel → Battery and set it to Unrestricted or No restrictions. The app includes a link to these settings under Configure Monitoring.
Why does the app need background location?
Scheduled voice checks read cell-tower signal strength from the Android telephony system. Android requires background location permission for apps to access this data while the screen is off. Location data is never recorded or shared — it is used only to complete the signal read.
Monitoring keeps stopping after I enable it
Confirm that both Voice or Data checks are turned on before enabling monitoring. Also check that the app is not being force-stopped by a battery saver or task-killer app. Some manufacturers (Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung) have aggressive background-kill policies — searching for your device model on dontkillmyapp.com can help.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Google Play. Open Google Play → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Signal Sentinel → Cancel. You can also use the Manage or cancel subscription button inside the app's paywall screen.
I was charged but the app says I don't have access
Tap Restore purchase on the paywall screen. If that doesn't resolve it within a few minutes, submit a support request below and include your Google Play order number. Billing is handled by Google — we can help investigate but refunds are issued through Google Play.
Data checks: what do they actually test?
Data checks test whether Android's current active network has working internet connectivity. The app performs a lightweight DNS lookup and a single HTTPS request to clients3.google.com/generate_204. No user data is sent. This checks the network Android is currently using — it does not force a cellular-only route.
